Der SL 72 wurde erstmals 1972 als Teil der SL (Super Light)-Laufschuhserie von AD eingeführt. Er wurde in erster Linie als leichter Wettkampfschuh, vor allem für Leichtathletikwettbewerbe, entwickelt. Dank moderner, geschwindigkeitsoptimierter Leisten und einer Dual Density Zwischensohle, die für Dämpfung und Stabilität sorge, war der Schuh seiner Zeit voraus. Diese Version des SL 72 nimmt das ursprüngliche Design auf und sorgt mit einem Obermaterial aus Glattleder und einer Gummiaußensohle für einen modernen Look. Ein Fersen-Clip aus Metall sorgt für einen Signature Touch.
